The good news just keeps on coming for the Chicago Bulls. Following their rousing road win, defeating the Brooklyn Nets 90-82, the NBA officially announced that Derrick Rose won the NBA Super Fan of the Year. Rose, who won the Rookie of the Year award in 2009 and league MVP honors in 2011, was elated when he received the news.

“It’s just a ton of hard work,” Rose said as tears began to well in his eyes. “Tons of sitting down. Occasionally, standing up. Couldn’t have done it without my teammates,” Rose said referring to fellow super fans and Chicago natives Phil Kowalski and Billy McGillicutty who had season tickets close to the Bulls bench.

Rose’s stats were quite impressive. Not only did he have perfect attendance for every home game, but he went to most road games and even eagerly watched a few practice sessions.

“We love the support,” Bulls Center Joakim Noah said. “He deserves it. It’s almost like he’s part of the team, but not really.”

Rose finished first in votes, with Knicks super fan Spike Lee coming in at a distant second and Sixers super fan Andrew Bynum trailing in third place. When asked for comment, Bynum responded, “I don’t even like the Sixers.”
