Official statement from Lakers on acquisition of Jeremy Lin
- Updated: July 13, 2014

The Lakers had big aspirations for this summer that they’ve been targeting for quite a while now after Dwight Howard took his tampons to Houston. The team lost and lost and lost and lost and well…lost. A lot. They took over as the NBA’s new Bobcats. They didn’t need Kobe back, they needed Jesus.
Names like LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Kevin Love were tossed around like they were all already on the roster, mostly because no one could name anyone on the CURRENT roster besides Kobe and Nick Young and his 3 point brick swag pictured above.
And nearly halfway into July, the Lakers have finally made their first major acquisition…
Jeremy Lin.
Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak released a statement on the trade for the Rockets G that was very optimistic, although perhaps not for the reason you’d expect.
Here’s the official press release:
See Lakers fans? No need to be sad, look how excited your “current” GM is.
