VIDEO: British commentary of last year’s SCF Game 6 so bad it’s good

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for a while, you are probably aware that the entire hockey universe has a … less than stellar opinion of Pierre McGuire’s reporting during hockey games. In fact, most of the commentary during the hockey season leaves something to be desired.

Well, comedian Anthony Richardson decided that the best way to improve hockey’s commentary was to give it a slightly British flare. Taking highlights from last year’s Game 6 matchup between the Boston Bruins and the Chicago Blackhawks (you know, that game where Boston folded like a wet napkin and gave Chicago the Cup?), Richardson replaced the words with is own, modified with a glorious British accent. That was so bad it was magnificent. If the current commentators were to adopt this style of speaking, ratings would explode. Although, I’m not sure the world could handle the sound of Pierre McGuire’s voice with a fake British accent. In fact, scratch that thought. Just watch the video and forget I said anything…
