VIDEO: Bruins player scores from near center ice

In case you haven’t bothered to check on the Blue Jackets this season, allow me to bring you up to speed: They suck. Injuries and poor play have taken their toll, and the team finds itself on the “Tank” side of the standings as of tonight.

After this goal, it isn’t hard to imagine them staying there.

During the 3rd period of the Bruins-Blue Jackets game, Bruins D Dennis Seidenberg received the puck in the neutral zone and decided to fire it on net to start the play. Conveniently, he also ended it.

Well, that’s embarrassing. What makes it worse is that, unlike other long range goals, the puck wasn’t affected by a weird bounce. Nope, this one went straight through the five-hole. When Sergei Bobrovsky resumes his contract negotiations to become a highly paid goalie, the team will use this against him. Don’t be surprised if he goes back to Russia as a result.
