VIDEO: “Deaf” Teammate Easily Pranks Jeff Francoeur
- Updated: April 13, 2014

Former Braves outfielder Jeff Francoeur may be relegated to being a minor league baseball player, but he’s still a major league rube. Teammates on the Triple-A Padres affiliates out of El Paso spent a month convincing him that one of the team’s pitchers was deaf.

Give the Chihuahuas credit. They showed amazing fortitude and a natural instinct for deception, which will greatly help many of those players who will inevitably get called up to San Diego, where they will have to dupe Padres fans into believing they are a major league team.
As for Jeff “Frenchy” Francoeur, the gag proved to be a rather symbolic of his last two seasons in the major leagues with the Royals and Giants – getting fooled by a pitcher….badly.
