VIDEO: Great Catch By Cubs’ Anthony Rizzo Costs Cubs A Run
- Updated: July 21, 2014

Most teams make great defensive plays that save runs. Most teams are not the Cubs. On a play so typically Cubs that you would expect them to have it copyrighted, even when that make an outstanding catch, it results in a run for their opposition.

Despite the Diamondbacks scoring on the play, hats off to Anthony Rizzo for a tremendous play, if only because most times the Cubs get attention for their defense, it usually leads to more than just one run being scored against them. Then again, because it is the Cubs, that one run still proved to be the difference in a 3-2 loss to Arizona.
At least he made the catch, though, despite flopping over the fence, right Torii Hunter?

“Little know rule”? You’re kidding, right? What baseball fan is not aware that if a live ball goes out of play, the runners advance? It’s just like in football. Receiver keeps feet in-bounds, then goes out. Get’s the catch, but no more.
I could be a better broadcaster if all they do is make statements like this!
